Meet our staff

Bill Heider, Lead Pastor (email Bill)

Bill HeiderBill's passion for Crossroads grows out of his life experience. He knows what it is like to work long hours when resources are hard to come by. He knows what it means to cry tears of sorrow when life doesn't go as expected. He knows the importance of having caring friends beside you during both life's brightest and darkest hours. Most of all he knows the beauty of God's endless grace.

Bill grew up in northern Jersey. After working his way through college, he moved to Texas to pursue a master's degree at Dallas Theological Seminary. He earned his degree...and also met his wife, Alene. (Texas is HOT!) After seminary Bill served on staff at an Evangelical Free Church in Minnesota for 4 years. (Minnesota is COLD!) God used a health crisis to bring him and his wife back to the east coast, where they both served on staff at a church in northern Wilmington for the next 12 years. (Delaware is JUST RIGHT!) During those years Bill helped lead service teams to every continent on earth (except Antarctica!) and to the inner cities of the United States to share God's grace and love with whomever they met.

Bill and Alene hope Crossroads will become a place where all people find a safe place to live life's journey together. They hope that Crossroads will be a place where we can experience God's love in very real ways. And they hope that people who come to Crossroads will commit themselves to address the great social issues of our community and our time.

Bill enjoys time in nature, especially on the hiking trail or at the beach. He also enjoys reading and time with family. He and his wife have two teenage boys who enjoy hockey, tennis and music.

Dan Leach, Worship Leader (email Dan)

Dan LeachDan was raised in upstate New York and moved to Wilmington, Delaware after graduating high school. While volunteering in a local after school program, Dan met his amazing wife Cristina. During their marriage, Dan achieved his Associate's degree in Automotive Technology at Delaware Technical & Community College and later, attended Philadelphia Biblical University where he achieved his Bachelor's degree in Bible with a focus on Leadership in Ministry.

Both Dan and Cristina served as interns and volunteered under Bill Heider in his ministry as youth pastor. During this time, Bill and, his wife, Alene were mentors for Dan and Cristina in their relationship with Christ, marriage, ministry, and as parents. While serving under Bill, Dan developed a passion for worship music and other worship expressions. He began leading multiple student worship teams for Sunday morning gatherings, retreats, mission trips and other events. Dan spent much time with Bill planning and designing creative worship celebrations; through this time, they developed a strong bond. Most recently, Dan's ministry experience involved leading the endeavor to start a new contemporary worship service in a local church.

Dan and Cristina understand the value of a community committed to caring and supporting one another. They recognize that who they are is a result of their friends and family in their lives caring for and supporting them through their life's journey. Their desire is that Crossroads would be that kind of community for others as they journey through life.

Dan and Cristina enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Danielle and Stephanie, as well as playing games, watching movies and hanging out with their friends and family. Dan also enjoys playing the guitar and drums, is a fan of NASCAR, football and hockey, and loves the outdoors.
