Live Life With Your Eyes Open

Last Sunday Bill finished his message with this statement: "live life with your eyes wide open". This was a short message because we had some roadies from Invisible Children share about their organization. I would encourage you to listen to Bill's message and view the video. It was uncomfortable, I cried, I laughed... it was a hard reminder that there is a big world outside of my little world that is full of injustice and crimes against humanity. If we close our eyes, nothing changes, we just become unaware and focussed on ourselves. If we live life with our eyes wide open, it creates a tension... a healthy tension in our hearts. Everytime I use my resources: time, money, or freedom, there is a tension in my heart about what good those resources can do elsewhere. It may not mean that you need to sell all you possessions, but living life aware causes you to appreciate what you have and change how you view it, as a gift on loan from God. However, maybe living life with your eyes wide open will enable God to convict you of small, or large changes that need to happen in your lifestyle. Either way, live your life with your eyes wide open, don't be afraid to embrace the pain that we can see, near us and far from us.

Just wanted to say I am sure glad the Lord brought me to worship at Xroads Sunday. I caught up with Eric after but thought others would find it interesting that I had put in a prayer request about a Pakistani brother named JOSEPH Francis, who is the primary attorney defending christian cases in the country. He was arrested on July 12th and many have been praying/fasting for his release and trying to raise $$ for requested bail. Anyone who saw me bawling my eyes out mighta wondered why - because there was I guy I know LIVING the "Joseph story". I met Francis briefly during a trip to Lahore in 2006 and he is surely just as humble and dedicated as the day he took on this call from the Lord. Anyone interested in assisting brothers and sisters like this overseas can look over Jubilee Campaign website or International Christian Concern. Mission Network News also provides accurate info and prayer requests from all over and there are a ton of others. I will also be hosting prayer at my house for the Muslim World during Ramadan (starts Aug 22nd) using the 30 days prayer guide every Monday evening 7-8pm - at my house. I know i should have said this while I was there last Sunday. I would like to say thank you for taking the time coming out to habitat and also thanks for welcoming me and my family to your church and making us feel at home; we really enjoy ourselves we are already making plans to come back! thanks so much for everything DAN CRISTINA ERIC AND WIFE DIANNE NEIL SHANNON TABBY RAE AND EVERY ONE WHO I CAN'T REMEMBER THEIR NAME.
