Crossroads' 1st Mission Trip, Day 5

Work is great, but it's all about the people. We have competed the work on one spring box short of the pump, which will be installed Friday. Work on the second spring box has begun. But the greatest thing is that we are really starting to connect with the people.

I mentioned in the previous blog entry that the people were shy and that all eyes were on us. For good reason. We found out that it has been 4 years since there have been any foreigners in this village. Also, many who live in this village have never traveled more than 20 miles from their home their whole lives. So we are a very unique phenomena in this community.

Yesterday and today the people have started to open. We've played with the children and made friends with the dogs (and pigs and donkeys). There have been questions about life back in the States, how we build our houses and if we like tequila. Today they cooked lunch for us.

It was a great day.

The work continues to be exhausting. Some of the team continue to fight stomach issues. Pray for strength, rest and health.
